Cho’s Academy is proud to announce the inception of its Youth Outreach Initiative. The initiative is designed to educate Cho’s Academy youth students about our responsibility to give back, the various means in which we can make positive contributions, and to give them the experience of independently organizing efforts and taking action in support of worthy causes. Ultimately, empowering our youth with the understanding and awareness that their actions make a difference and to be proactive with efforts.
For our first project, the team has decided to raise funds for the Red Cross by way of a live auction. The auction will be tied to our 3rd Annual Youth Awards Banquet. The awards banquet recognizes children for their exceptional efforts, character and achievements over the course of a year.
Update: November, 2013
The outreach team's auction raised just under $4,000 for The Red Cross!

Update: June, 2014
Team 2014 has selected the charity/cause we will support and raise funds for this year. After a research, presentation, debate and voting process our team has chosen Operation Underground Railroad, which is a 501(c) dedicated to fighting child trafficking and rescuing children from slavery. I am very proud of our young team and looking forward to moving this project along. My goal is to bring awareness and a sense of responsibility to my students at a young age, so that a ripple effect of positive actions will reach as many as possible... impacting and shaping our world for the better. More details will be available soon.
Update: September 21, 2014
Cho’s Academy is proud to announce that its Youth Outreach Initiative is well into its second year and going strong.
Last year we raised nearly 4k for the Red Cross by way of live auction, with local Laguna radio personality, Jason Feddy as our auctioneer. For our second project, the team has decided to raise funds for Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.), which is a 501(c) dedicated to fighting child trafficking and rescuing children from child slavery. The team has decided on an auction for this year too (Jason Feddy confirmed again!). The auction will be held with our 5th Annual Youth Awards Banquet. The awards banquet recognizes local children for their exceptional efforts, character and achievements over the course of a year.
The team spent today walking around Laguna educating local merchants about our cause and rallying their support. This was a great way for us to spend our morning and afternoon... time devoted to making a difference and raising awareness.
Update: December 2014
Our event was a huge success and the Online portion of our auctio just closed. The 2014 team (youngsters ranging from 11-14 years young), made up of Conor Farley, Brayden Jenson, Katy Kellenberg and Sean Dolan raised nearly 3k for Operation Underground Railroad, a 501(c) dedicated to fighting child trafficking and rescuing children from child slavery. This is such a worthy cause and we appreciate the generosity of all those who donated and bid on auction items. I am of course also incredibly proud of our young team who took on the bulk of all efforts. See some photos and read the team's speech here >>>
